There's a Different Version of Peter Parker and Tony Stark's 'Avengers: Endgame' Reunion

There's a different version of that emotional reunion between Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Avengers: Endgame.

Recently launched streaming service Disney+ shared the alternate scene, in which RDJ and Holland still hug but take time out to be polite and introduce Pepper Potts.

The scene, which was shared without the CGI bells and whistles edited in, shows a largely unchanged reunion between Stark and Parker. However, it is an interesting glimpse into how the sausage gets made. It shows exactly what parts of the final battle set were real as the actors converse covered in the requisite ping-pong ball suits.

Editor Jeff Ford told Slash Film that they removed the Potts meeting because it seemed too light-hearted for such an emotional reunion.

“The first time we shot it, Peter and Tony reunite and Pepper’s nearby, and Tony goes, 'Uh, Peter, do you know Pepper?' 'Nice to meet you!' It’s one of those crazy meet-cutes in the middle of a fight. He hugs him and they have this thing, but it felt very incidental, like they ran into each other at an airport or something. We watched it, and they were both great in the scene, but it was like a comedy scene, so it had this schtick quality to it," he said.
