Maisie Williams Tells ‘Game of Thrones’ Fans Her Family Has Probably Watched That Scene Too

An army of the dead is massing outside the gates of Winterfell and many of our favorite Game of Thronescharacters are making peace with the fact that they are likely to die. But that morose attitude and sense of impending doom isn't what made Thrones viewers uncomfortable last week.

Instead of dreading the Night King, most fans couldn't stop talking about how weird it was to see Arya Stark have sex. Actress Maisie Williams pointed out on Twitter that they don't know what real discomfort is, noting that her family have watched the scene as well.

"if u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too," she wrote on Twitter.

Of course, Arya's coupling with Gendry is one of the few consensual, non-incestous sex scenes we've seen in Thrones, as writer Mikki Kendall pointed out.

Williams does understand viewers' shock to some degree. She told Entertainment Weekly that the scene surprised her so much that she figured it was a prank on the part of the showrunners inserted into her script.
