Winnie Harlow Shares How Kyle Kuzma Pulled Off Surprise Proposal on Private Jet

What seemed like a Valentine's Day getaway for the model turned into a life-changing moment inspired by an inside joke.

Winnie Harlow is spilling the details on how Kyle Kuzma proposed to her.

Just days after Valentine’s Day, the 30-year-old model shared on her Instagram account that she and Kuzma, 29, became engaged.

On the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, Harlow told host Alex Cooper she had no idea that a proposal was coming despite her entire team's secret planning.

“I was the last one to know about it,” Harlow said at the 45-second mark in the video above. "Everyone on my whole team was like, ‘Did you not realize that we’ve been avoiding you for the last two weeks?’ I was like, ‘Well, I was none the wiser.’”

The Canadian model then shared how Kuzma suggested heading to Turks and Caicos for Valentine’s Day but became “super sick” during the trip.

The surprise began even before they arrived, as the private jet they traveled in was decorated for Valentine’s Day, a gesture that left Harlow nearly moved to tears.

“I already started watering up, but it was like, ‘OK, stop. Get it together. He wants to read me a poem that he wrote,’” she recalled.

She continued, “Kyle just got traded from the [Washington] Wizards to Milwaukee [Bucks], and we were joking. He’s like, ‘I’m going off to work now. I’ll see you soon. Can’t wait for you to come to Milwaukee.’ I was like, ‘Write me a love letter, my sergeant. Send me a love letter.’ It was just a joke, you know? But he took that and wrote me a love letter to propose. It was the cutest ever. I was tearing up, crying—but crying just because it was so cute. I still had no idea.”

At the end of the poem, Harlow implied that she thought the poem was going to end with a request to be his Valentine. To her delight, it ended with “Will you be my wife?”

“[I] literally just went into shock,” she admitted. “I was already crying and just flooded with tears at that point. He pulled out the box, got on one knee, and I was like, ‘Yes. I don’t even need to see it … Yes, yes, yes.’”

She explained that the proposal was almost a family affair until Kuzma changed his mind.

“Apparently he wanted to do it in Turks with the family and everything, and just last minute he changed his mind,” Harlow said. “[He] was like, ‘Guys, I'm doing it on the plane.’ Our moms were so mad, like, ‘Tell him he has to do it here … We need to see it. How could he?’

“I love that he did that. It was so beautiful, so romantic, it was just him and I," she said. "And then, surprise, everyone was in Turks—I had no clue, as well.”

Further into the episode, Harlow mentioned that Kuzma orchestrated a flight for her nail tech from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., to make sure her nails were ready when he popped the question.

The couple have been dating since 2020, although the NBA star had previously attempted to make contact with her via Instagram.

"So, I got a DM a year prior from my boyfriend and I'd never seen it. I don't know what the glitch in the system with Instagram is, but that never came up for me," Harlow explained during a 2021 appearance on The Elle DeDeneres Show. "A year later at the top of quarantine, he DMed me again. He posted a picture of me in an outfit and I was like, 'Oh, hi.'"
