Shiloh Jolie Officially Removes 'Pitt' From Last Name After Court Approval

Shiloh Jolie has officially been granted a legal name change.

The 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt received court approval to remove “Pitt” from her name, which was previously Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, per TMZ.

The outlet also reported that there was no formal hearing and the petition was simply granted without issue.

Shiloh filed the paperwork for her name change on May 27, the exact day of her 18th birthday. The move follows her older brother Maddox, 23, after he dropped “Pitt” from his surname in 2021.

Their sibling Zahara, 19, also distanced herself from her famous father in 2023 as she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during her induction ceremony to Alpha Kappa Alpha at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.

Brad and Angelina’s youngest daughter Vivienne, 16, is credited as “Vivienne Jolie” in the playbill for the Broadway musical The Outsiders as a producer. It’s not clear if Maddox, Zahara, and Vivienne have taken steps to change their legal names.

The former Hollywood “it couple” infamously first met while playing husband and wife on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Pitt, who was still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, eventually split with the Friends actress in 2005.

After a 12-year relationship and two years of marriage, Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016 over “irreconcilable differences.” In her petition, Jolie requested physical custody of their children and only wanted visitation rights for Pitt over his alleged substance abuse, anger, and physical abuse towards her and their children.
