Sebastian Stan could join Robert Pattinson in Gotham City.

According to Variety, Stan, 43, is reportedly in talks to join DC Studios' The Batman Part II, marking a potential return to the superhero genre. Details about his role, such as whether he would play an ally or adversary to Bruce Wayne, are currently unknown.

Stan previously portrayed Bucky Barnes in Marvel films and worked with Pattinson in The Devil All the Time.

The Batman Part II, written by Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin with direction by Reeves, recently locked in Scarlett Johansson for the film’s supporting cast alongside returning actors Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Barry Keoghan, who is expected to appear again as the Joker.

The sequel is expected to begin filming next spring ahead of an October 2027 release from Warner Bros.

The first film in the series, released in March 2022, generated $772 million in global box office receipts.

“It's been a long journey, but I am so incredibly excited. I'm really proud of the script me and Mattson did,” Reeves told Variety at the Emmys in November. “We put [the script] into a secret pouch that literally has a lock on it with a code. [Pattinson] was in New York at the time, and everything is high security."

Variety notes that The Batman Part Il is not officially part of the newly relaunched DC Universe but is being developed under James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios. The new cinematic universe began with Superman and has multiple films slated through 2027 and beyond.

Stan was last seen in Thunderbolts* and has credits including I, Tonya and A Different Man. He's set to appear next in Avengers: Doomsday and the thriller Fjord.
