Rob “The Rabbit” Pitts, YouTuber and star of Netflix’s Tex Mex Motors has died after a battle with stomach cancer. He was 45 years old.

Pitts shared his diagnosis to his YouTube channel on Sunday in a YouTube video titled “This is Goodbye.” The car salesman himself does not appear in the clip, which only features a text-based slideshow explaining how he discovered his illness.

“You haven’t heard much from me lately, and I know some of you are wondering about what I’ve been up to,” read the video. “I started feeling ‘off’ after SEMA last year, and I was losing weight. But I was getting ready to film Season 2 of Tex Mex Motors for Netflix, and wanted to be camera ready, so I didn’t mind that so much.”

Pitts said in the video that he began to lose his appetite and developed acid reflux-like symptoms while filming the reality series. While urgent care was able to help treat his ailments, Pitts said they didn’t get to the root of the problem.

It wasn’t until his castmate and “set mom” Jaime Hjelm took Pitts to the emergency room believing had a gallbladder issue. However, he was formally diagnosed with stomach cancer at the end of March. Pitts described the treatments as “rough” with “more bad days than good.”

“Don’t be sad for me. I accomplished my dream of buying my own store, finishing Season 2 of Netflix, and marrying the love of my life. Luckily she doesn’t mind doing long-term things with a short-term guy,” he wrote in the clip.

“You know I always have advice, and this time it's if your body is telling you something is wrong, don't stop until you figure it out. Ask questions and get answers. Thank you for listening to my stories over the years. If my stories have impacted you, I would love to hear about it,” Pitts added before signing off.

In the comments section, Pitts’ videographer, Jeff, left a comment confirming his death, writing, “I am with him now in Hospice. He just passed at 21:45 on 08/25/2024. I will be sure to preserve the channel. He will be missed and we will never forget him! ❤️”

In a statement shared with TMZ, Pitts’ family said, "Since Robby's passing, the outpouring of support for the family has been incredible. We are not surprised that his stories touched so many - we had no idea of the depth of each connection he made. We wish to thank his friends and fans for keeping these memories alive and showing the impact of the work he did that always came from his heart.”

He is survived by his wife, Randi Foraker, and his mother Kim Pitts.
