Nina Lin is responding after viewers accused her of stealing from a Target store.
As shown in a clip circulating online, the 24-year-old Twitch streamer was seen checking out purchases at a self-checkout station during a recent stream.
Some users online pointed out she appeared to be holding a stick of butter and a steak together on one hand but used the scanner gun to only scan the butter before bagging both items.
Lin addressed the alleged theft further into the stream, saying, “I'm telling you, bro, even if it was the steaks, … ain't nobody missing no fucking money, bitch. Calm the fuck down.”
She continued, “No, Target is not losing no type of fucking money from some stakes, bitch. Fucking bum ass steaks, I don't give a shit. Matter of fact, put this on Twitter too: your mom's a bitch, she was a bitch and happy holidays, all you hoes is bitches … I don't give a fuck. Happy holidays, whores.”
She then held up a shoe and claimed she had stolen that as well.
“I got these from Target too, guys,” she said. “Guess how much I paid? Free-99. Get mad, bitch.”
In September, CNN reported that Target played a major role in shaping public concern about shoplifting when its CEO Brian Cornell said in 2023 that the company faced "an unacceptable amount of retail theft and organized retail crime."
That year, the retail company said it expected to lose $500 million in stolen or lost merchandise due to organized retail crime, per CNBC.
However, Target later shifted its stance as improved inventory tracking and stronger coordination with law enforcement showed better results.
In August, the company stated that its shrink rate this year is expected to fall below pre-pandemic levels, showing a very different picture from the one it presented during the height of the debate.
