Marvel Unveils Star-Studded 'Avengers: Doomsday' Cast as 'X-Men' Join the MCU

The upcoming crossover event will bring mutants, Avengers, and the Fantastic Four together at last.

Marvel Studios officially revealed the cast of Avengers: Doomsday through a nearly five-and-a-half-hour live stream event, bringing back several familiar faces and some new additions.

The stream began on Wednesday morning (March 26) with a chair labeled with Chris Hemsworth’s name, confirming his return as Thor

Roughly every 15 minutes, the camera panned to reveal another cast member, including Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, and Winston Duke as M’Baku.

In an unexpected twist, several X-Men actors were revealed, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps cast will also make their debut, with Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing.

Stars from Thunderbolts and other MCU films, such as Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, and Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, are rounding out the ensemble.

The new film marks the first time the Avengers team assembled since 2019’s Endgame, which saw the farewell of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Chris Evans’ Captain America, and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow

However, Marvel previously revealed Downey Jr. would return to the MCU during an announcement at San Diego Comic-Con last July. However, instead of reprising his role as Tony Stark, he will play the film’s main villain, Doctor Doom.

Downey Jr. even made a special appearance to close out the stream.

Avengers: Doomsday, directed by the Russo Brothers, is currently in production and will hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
