Fans are speculating that there may be some tension between White Lotus stars Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood.
Rumors about an alleged feud between Goggins and Wood, who played on-screen lovers Rick and Chelsea in the hit HBO series for its third season, began when fans realized the actors are no longer following each other on Instagram.
Although both actors recently shared Instagram posts reflecting on the journeys of their characters, neither tagged the other despite featuring one another in their posts.
Goggins, 53, wrote a lengthy heartfelt caption calling Rick and Chelsea’s storyline “a love story” which was “hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma” before thanking Wood, White Lotus creator Mike White, and his castmates.
“Thank you Mike White for your imagination, your tender heart, for the privilege of giving us the opportunity to tell it. Thank you Aimee Lou for being my partner… a journey I will never forget,” he wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “Sammy Rock for being the best wing man a fella could ask for. And every stellar fucking actor in this cast…. You’re just incredible to watch. Bernad, John, Ben, Kamine… and this whole crew. I love you. We’ll always have Thailand. And to all of you…thank you for going on this journey with us.”
On the other hand, 31-year-old Wood kept things more subtle with a candid photo of her co-star along with the caption, “The perfect storm 🩷 ☯️ ♾️.”
Despite these occurrences, both actors have spoken warmly about each other in recent interviews.
Wood recently told the Hollywood Reporter that she was “sad” about Goggins missing the series’ finale event.
“I was sad that Walton wasn’t there because it was something that we did together but also it’s so fucking Rick and Chelsea,” Wood told THR. “Like, of course Walton had to watch it alone and of course I had to watch it in the group because there is so much Aimee in Chelsea and so much Walton in Rick.”
In an interview with Complex, Goggins said he "adored" Lou.
"Amy Lou and I became very close over the making of this," said Goggins. "I love her. I adore her as a human being. This relationship between these two people that I will take with me, it's the one thing that will continue to live on in my experience of this show."
