Aubrey Plaza is reportedly expecting.
A source connected to the 41-year-old star confirms to People that she is expecting her first child with her partner, Chris Abbott. Plaza is due to give birth in the fall.
“It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,” the source told the magazine, adding that “they feel very blessed.”
Plaza’s late husband, Jeff Baena, passed away in January 2025. The 47-year-old screenwriter died by suicide, according to Page Six, citing a report from the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office. The couple married in 2021 and separated four months before Baena’s death.
“Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,” she told her former Parks and Recreation co-star. “Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning.”
Plaza broke her silence on her husband’s death during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast last year. “At all times, there’s, like, a giant ocean of just awfulness that’s just right there and I can see it,” she said.
She continued, “Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it. And sometimes I look at it, and sometimes I just try to get away from it, but it’s always there.”
Plaza and Abbott have also collaborated professionally, co-starring in the 2023–2024 off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and the 2020 film Black Bear.
