Sacha Baron Cohen Taunts Trump's Legal Troubles With Ali G Throwback Interview

"u iz a hinspiration for young people, showing dem u can become President of America without having to give up a life of crime," Cohen writes to Trump as Ali G.

In case you missed The Washington Post’s bajillion news alerts this week, Donald Trump’s team is in some deep [redacted]. Both Paul Manafort and Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen were found guilty of a bunch of things, implicating Trump in some campaign violations that took place during the 2016 election.

To pour salt in Trump’s wound, another Cohen/professional political agitator Sacha Baron Cohen went on Twitter to resurrect Ali G, and share his interview with the president from 2003.

Below the infamous clip, Cohen’s breakout rap character mockingly praises Trump in a letter. “Yesterday it was proven in de courts dat u iz a crook – respeck! U iz a genuine gangsta! And it turns out most of your crew are too innit (4 guilty so far). U iz de Suge Knight of world leaderz innit,” Cohen writes as Ali G.

"Anyway, peace out, u iz a hinspiration for young people, showing dem u can become President of America without having to give up a life of crime," Cohen concludes the letter.

Back in 2012, Trump claimed he’d never fallen for scams, including Cohen’s interview, and walked out of their meeting. Of course the clip linked above says otherwise.

Cohen’s Showtime series Who Is America? airs on Sunday nights.
