Where’s Batman when you need him?

Police decided to shut down a portion of the 170 Freeway in Los Angeles after a man dressed as the Batman nemesis Joker climbed to the top of a pedestrian bridge. According to the L.A. Times, the man was described as a “potential jumper.”

Images captured from local broadcasts show a man dressed in a purple and green costume sitting on top of the fencing of a pedestrian bridge on Whitsett Avenue in the North Hollywood area.

Rescue officers were seen talking to the man on ladders, as officials with the California Highway Patrol shut down all the southbound lanes of the freeway shortly after 9 a.m. Hours later, officers reopened one lane of the freeway.
