Ghostbustersfans rejoice! Not only is Jason Reitman taking his father’s place as director of the Ghostbusters sequel, but the entire gang is reportedly getting back together to star in it.

The Daily Mailreports that the movie’s original cast is waiting by the phone to get confirmation from Sony. Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in the original, is definitely in. “Ivan Reitman is there and everybody is in,” he told the tabloid. “Now whether the studio will do it, I’m the guy who sits by the phone and waits for the call. So if they call, I’ll answer. If not, I’ve got other stuff that I’m doing.”

The sequel already has a teaser trailer with Elmer Bernstein’s score and the Ecto-1, so Sony is definitely here for the sequel.

As Consequence of Sound points out, Dan Aykroyd—who plays Ray Stantz—is also ready to hop on the sequel.

Harold Ramis, who passed back in 2014, obviously won’t be returning to take on the original role of Egon Spengler. Hudson mentioned Ramis’ passing to Daily Mail. “We miss Harold, because Harold was really the glue that I think held everybody together," he said. "He was always my go-to point and anything that was a little bit weird, or whatever, Harold was the guy who would sort of say, ‘Ernie, just…’ and explain the world to me. And I miss him, but his spirit is there.”

Unsurprisingly, Bill Murray has yet to confirm or deny his involvement in the sequel.

The sequel has a 2020 release date attached, so hopefully the OG Ghostbusters get confirmation sooner rather than later that they’ll be returning for a reboot of the 1984 classic.
