Oh bother, Tom Cruise’s latest Mission: Impossible film beat out Christopher Robin at the box office over the weekend.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paramount's Mission: Impossible — Fallout is expected to gross a whopping $35 million its second weekend in theaters, keeping the film in the No. 1 spot as it earns the franchise's best second weekend ever.

Meanwhile, Disney’s live-action/CGI take on the classic children’s character is on track to earn somewhere between $25 and $27 million domestically its debut weekend.

Last weekend, Mission: Impossible 6also made history by giving the franchise its biggest debut ever, not considering inflation. It ended last weekend with a global total of of $153.5 million, so this extra $35 million helps the film clear its $178 million budget.

The movie, which also stars Angela Bassett and Henry Cavill, has earned itself a 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, the franchise's highest score."Tom Cruise has proven time and time again that when it comes to action, he is one of the most dependable stars out there," Paramount domestic distribution chief Kyle Davies told THR last week. "We've had all these big visual-effect driven summer movies. Now comes along a movie where the actor and director are putting it all on the line with real stunts. It provides raw and visceral entertainment that people are excited about."

In other exciting movie-money news, Black Panther crossed the $700 million mark domestically, making it the highest-grossing Marvel film stateside. It’s also the third-highest domestic box office total following Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.6 million) and Fox’s Avatar ($760.5 million).
