It’s been five years sinceBreaking Bad left the small screen, but the show’s creator Vince Gilligan is officially working on a two-hour movie that continues the story of the beloved series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s unclear if the film will hit theaters or stick to the small screen. With Better Call Saulcontinuing to its fifth season, it’s also murky as to whether this will be a prequel or sequel to Breaking Bad. We don't even know for sure yet if it will star anyone from the original series, namely Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul.

AMC's 'Better Call Saul' Renewed for Season 5
The hit 'Breaking Bad' spinoff will return for a fifth season in 2019. The news was announced during the Television Critics Association summer press tour Saturday, about a week ahead of the season 4 premiere.
As Uproxx points out, Cranston also confirmed the forthcoming movie, and said he’d “absolutely” appear in it if Gilligan asks. “Yes, there appears to be a movie version of Breaking Bad,” he said on Wednesday’s episode of The Dan Patrick Show. “It’s a great story, and there’s a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some kind of completion to these storylines that were left open, and this idea, from what I’m told, gets into those...at least a couple of the characters who were not completed, as far as their journey.”
The only glimpse we have of a possible plot is a line from The Albuquerque Journal, which states the movie “tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.” Some fans have noted this fits Jesse Pinkman's presumed post-series narrative.
Gilligan will be penning the new script, producing, and possibly directing. Production is reportedly expected to begin later this month in New Mexico under the rumored working title Greenbrier, with plans to wrap in early February.
