The “longest marathon in TV history,” featuring non-stop episodes of The Simpsons for nearly two weeks, will run on FXX starting Thanksgiving Day, the network announced on Thursday. From Nov. 24 to Dec. 6, dedicated Simpsons fans can watch the popular animated sitcom that’s been on the air for 27 seasons.
FXX, a subsidiary of FOX, will show 600 episodes. That’s 300 hours of Simpsons, which debuted in 1990. The cult-favorite series has claimed 32 Emmy Awards.
The network did something similar in 2014, showing 552 episodes over 12 days.
"The first ‘Every. Simpsons. Ever.’ Marathon was truly so special and landmark in its cultural relevance and impact," said FX Networks President and COO Chuck Saftler in a statement. "The unprecedented feat of reaching 600 episodes deserves something of that caliber to mark it and celebrate it."
The 2014 marathon was a hit. FXX was cable’s No. 1 network in primetime ratings for the 18-to-49 and 18-to-34 demographics for 12 consecutive days.
The Simpsons' season 28 debuts Sunday on FOX.
