We're only a few months into 2016, but giving rappers the key to a city is already a major wave this year. Both Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been gifted with the honor in their respective hometowns in recent months, and now Foxy Brown has joined the club, as she was recently given the key to the city of Brooklyn. While Drake and Kendrick both had rather big ceremonies to celebrate the occasion, Foxy kept things lowkey and just shared the news on her Instagram with a picture of the certification she received from the city.
"Only ONE Chick Alone Got The “KEY” To Her Home #BROOKYLN!!!!!!!! It’s OFFICIAL! BK Is #MINE," she wrote in the caption. This is a huge moment for Foxy and a very cool thing to see Brooklyn do for one of the most notable female musicians from the city. We've reached out to Foxy's camp for comment on the honor, but have yet to hear back yet. Check out her post from Instagram below.
