Daniel Caesar is easily one of the most impressive up-and-coming singer/songwriters out right now, and tonight, he treats his fans with the debut of the stream of his entire new project, Pilgrim's Paradise. The incredibly smooth seven-song project includes the lead singles, "Death & Taxes" and "Paradise," which was premiered on Beats 1 Radio.
"Pilgrim's Paradise picks up where I left off with my story on my last body of work. I found myself dissecting my life through my music; my relationships and my desires, my aspirations, and my own self-worth," Caesar told Complex. The EP is a real deep dive into Caesar's world, as he mixes together emotional lyrics with jazz-influenced and progressive sounds to mirror his stunning vocals.
Almost like a blend of John Mayer and John Legend, his music will take you away from whatever you're dealing with at the moment. "Together these new stories are a self-pilgrimage. I'm finding my way through my songs. I'm not sure I know exactly what matters in life yet, but I know what doesn't," Caesar said. The EP is available to stream in full below, and is currently available for pre-order on iTunes before it officially drops tomorrow.
