Eladio Carrión has taken in back to the ‘80s with the release of his brand new single, "Polaroid" — check it out below.
Produced by Carrión, alongside Hide Miyabi and AndrahPR, the up-tempo joint flips Michael Sembello's chart-topping 1983 hit "Maniac" — which was key to the success of the Jennifer Beals-starring Flashdance — into a modern day street smash that is both sensual and fierce.
The track — which was first teased during Kai Cenat's 'Mafiathon 3', when he performed it as part of his On The Radar freestyle — arrives with an accompanying music video that plays on the Flashdance theme. Directed by BALLVE, the visual screams nostalgia, hopping between a woman flash dancing and Carrión cruising in a vintage Porsche.
According to a press release, "Polaroid" signals "the start of a new chapter" for Carrión, who wants to expand in "his creative range while continuing to push the boundaries of Latin trap and reggaeton."
The track follows the release of recent singles "Buenos Días" and "De Chamaquito," as well as his critically acclaimed 2025 album, DON KBRN, which includes features from the likes of Big Sean, Jessie Reyez, Young Miko, Peso Pluma, Myke Towers, Cris MJ and more.
In 2023, Carrión won his first Latin Grammy for "Coco Chanel" featuring Bad Bunny, in the category for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song. At the following year's ceremony, he provided a touching moment, singing a song for his mother, Sol Maria, who was in attendance.
"Te amo, mami," he said, before getting stuck into his performance of "Mama's Boy," taken from his Sol Maria EP, which is dedicated to his mother. "I want to make the world know who my mom is because she deserves it and she’s the best mom in the world," Carrión explained to Billboard Español at the time.
