Colombian Singer Yeison Jiménez Dies in Plane Crash at 34

He was set to perform just hours later.

Popular Colombian singer Yeison Jiménez has died after a plane crash, according to reports. He was 34.

The crash occurred on Saturday (Jan. 10) between the areas of Paipa and Duitama, killing all six people who were on board, according to Colombian officials. The other victims have been identified as Jefferson Osorio, Juan Manuel, Oscar Marín, Weisman Mora, and Capt. Fernando Torres.

At the time of the crash, the flight was en route to Medellín but went down soon after takeoff.

Jiménez's team confirmed his death through a representative who shared the news on Instagram.

"With heavy hearts and indescribable grief, Yeison Jiménez's organization and team deeply regret to announce his passing,” reads the statement, translated from Spanish. “Today, we not only say goodbye to an artist; we say goodbye to a son, a brother, a friend, a human being full of dreams and courage, who transformed his story into a source of hope for thousands.

“We send our deepest condolences, our absolute solidarity, and our prayers to their families during this difficult time,” the statement concludes.

The plane crash came hours before Jiménez was set to perform in the town of Marinilla.

In 2025, Jiménez became the first Colombian artist ever to sell out El Campín Stadium in Bogotá. He is survived by his wife and three children.
