A track from Ye’s newly-released Bully features a sample from a track that MF DOOM also utilized on one of his most beloved songs.

According to WhoSampled.com, the artist formerly known as Kanye West sampled the track “Huit octobre 1971” by Cortex for his song “CIRCLES.” MF Doom also sampled the track for the song “One Beer.”

Check out both tracks below.

Ye’s long-teased album Bully arrived on streaming March 28, with it premiering at listening parties worldwide the day before. The 12-track project features appearances from artists like CeeLo Green and Travis Scott.

Soon after the album came out, singer James Blake publicly asked for his name to be removed from the production credits of the song “This One Here. “ Blake wrote online that while his original vocal pitching and track construction were on the final version of “This One Here,” the “spirit” of his actual production is “mostly absent.”

“My original version is a completely different production in spirit,” Blake said. “Happy for the fans but I’ve been asked taken off the producer credits for now, as I don’t want to take credit for other people’s work and this version isn’t what I created with Ye.”

“It’s not personal!” Blake continued. “I just hit a point where [I] don’t want to be credited on music where I can’t affect the end result.”

On the track “King” from Ye’s new album, the rapper rapped that he wouldn’t have a “white queen” without Martin Luther King Jr. On another track, “Punch Drunk,” Ye and Kim Kardashian’s daughter, North West, has a production credit.

The track, “Father,” with Travis Scott accompanied a music video directed by Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori.

As you listen to BULLY, do so without worrying whether parts of it were made by artificial intelligence. The rapper had previously stated that no AI was involved in the album’s creation.
