Tory Lanez and his lawyer have been held in contempt of court after he refused to answer questions in a deposition for Megan Thee Stallion’s defamation lawsuit against Milagro Gramz.

In a legal order obtained by Complex, Lanez and his lawyer, Crystal Morgan, were held in contempt of court due to their conduct after a deposition that was held on Nov. 14.

Lanez asked what sanctions he would get if he didn’t answer any question, and once he found out he could be held in contempt of court, be sanctioned, and face additional jail time, Lanez responded with "Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them. I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”

After Lanez told Megan’s lawyers to “calm down” and “relax,” followed by calling them a “liar,” he left the room to end the deposition, alleging that he hadn’t been shown all of the exhibits that Megan’s team intended to use during the deposition beforehand.

Lanez eventually returned to the room, got upset at Megan’s lawyer, and then left again while making derogatory comments towards them and refusing to return to the deposition afterward.

As for Morgan’s involvement, Lanez's lawyer objected to questions being asked about Lanez’s communications with Gramz throughout the deposition, questions that “were clearly relevant to the proceeding” according to the order.

“She engaged in lengthy speaking objections, coaching the witness, and continued to do so after she was requested to stop,” reads the order. “Even after her objections were ruled upon, she did not once instruct her client to answer Plaintiff’s questions.”

Details about the two previous attempts at depositions for Lanez by Megan’s team are also revealed in the order. Lanez’s first deposition only lasted 44 minutes because he “behaved inappropriately and personally insulted the attorney taking the deposition.”

During the second attempt, Lanez told prosecutors that he’s “got jail for 10 years right now. You can do whatever you’d like to do” when he found out the consequences for failing to comply with his deposition.

Megan’s defamation lawsuit kicks off on Nov. 17 when it goes to trial. In October, Lanez filed a protective order that requested that he not be subject to any more questioning in the case.
