Teddy Swims Got His Eyelids Tattooed to Be 'Cool Like Lil Wayne'

The singer loves him some Weezy — and he's not afraid to let it be known.

Teddy Swims has revealed that his love for Lil Wayne inspired his unique collection of tattoos.

On Wednesday (December 10), the "Bad Dreams" singer sat down with Bobbi Althoff for an interview on her Not This Again podcast.

At one point, Swims discussed his tattooed eyelids, admitting that the reason he got them was because of Weezy F. Baby, who’s been a tattoo fanatic for decades.

"I’m a huge Lil Wayne fan, and he had the 'Fear of God' on his stuff," Swims said (around the 18-minute mark of the video above). "Tha Carter 3 changed my life when I was in the ninth grade, and I was like, I have to get my eyelids tattooed."

"It was just to be cool like Lil Wayne, to be honest," he concluded.

Swims previously spoke about his eyelid tattoos and their connection to Lil Wayne on the Club Shay Shay podcast earlier this year. "Tha Carter III was like my favorite album… Lil Wayne had the 'Fear God,' and I just wanted to be like Lil Wayne. All I ever wanted to do was get my eyelids tattooed. He’s f*cking cool, man," Swims said at the time.

In other Teddy Swims news, the singer recently admitted to using artificial intelligence tools when he makes music. While speaking about AI at SXSW Sydney, he called it "truly amazing" and "super helpful" before explaining how he can use it to change his lyrics.

"Rather than me going [to] the studio and doing the line 15 times and spending that time and money and effort, [my engineer's] actually been able to go in and just change the word," Swims said.

Swims then acknowledged AI’s use to reimagine different songs in different genres.

"What we’ll do is maybe just take an acoustic and write the melody and the lyrics and just get the song done and upload it into it and say, 'Okay, I want to hear this song as a country song' or 'I want to hear this song as a rock and roll song,'" he admitted.
