Soulja Boy and Kandi Burruss have revealed that their mutual friend T.I. helped them get past their brief feud over comments made by a guest on her podcast.
Soulja Boy appeared on Burruss’ Speak On It podcast, where the two discussed how they were able to mend their differences. After Burruss named T.I. as their mediator, Soulja Boy elaborated on what the rapper did to fix the situation (around the 11:30 mark). “He called my phone and we talked,” Soulja Boy said.
After Soulja Boy explained that he wondered why Burruss didn’t call him to find out if what her guest said was true about him, the rapper said that T.I. let him know that Burruss didn’t know who he is, so she didn’t have to call.
“I shouldn’t have been that mad at you because you didn’t know what that person was going to say,” said Soulja Boy to Burruss afterward.
Late last month, Soulja Boy got angry with Burruss after she interviewed former cameraman Charlie Rocket, who alleged that the rapper spat in his food during a 2007 incident.
“Soulja Boy called me to his room. We're staying at the Bellagio and he wanted to make a really viral video,” Rocket recalled. “He said, ‘Come to my room. I'm about to order some room service,’ and he ordered $1,000 worth of room service. When he was done, there was so much food left over. I was excited. I saw some chicken fingers and I was like, ‘Can I can I get those?’ ‘Cause I'm hungry, I'm really really hungry.”
Rocket claimed Soulja told him to “have whatever you want” before getting up and spitting on the food. The cameraman claimed he had never experienced something like that before while conceding that Soulja, who was between 17 and 18 years old at the time, “was just a kid.”
Soulja Boy denied the allegations in an explicit rant streamed to Instagram, calling Burruss “bald-headed.”
Seemingly after speaking with T.I, Soulja Boy responded in an apology video shared online.
“They said you gon’ need to apologize to Kandi. I'm sending out an apology to Kandi, man, you know what I'm saying?” the rapper said. “You know I be overreacting sometimes. I just be seeing stuff on the internet … But much love to Kandi, if you could find it in your heart to accept my apology.”
“I just be getting so mad … Folks lying on me and shit, but they're like, ‘Man, he should’ve got mad at the dude, you shouldn't got mad at her,’” he continued.
