Quality Control Music long known for its high-profile rap artists, is expanding its roster to include country music.
Today (Nov. 12), QC announced that it signed The BoykinZ — a quartet of singing sisters whose music leans primarily toward country but also incorporates elements of pop, hip-hop, rock, and soul.
In a statement released by the label, the BoykinZ sisters relayed how excited they are to be joining the label’s esteemed roster. “This is a dream come true for us and we're incredibly humbled and honored to officially join the QC family,” they said. “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to P and Coach K, the country music community and everyone who has believed in and supported us over the past few years, your love and encouragement have been the fuel that's powered us to this moment.“
“We can't wait to share this new music with all of you and we're excited to see what the future holds,” the statement continues. “Never give up on your dreams. LET’S GOOOO!”
“An act like The BoykinZ comes along once in a generation,” said QC co-founders Pierre “P” Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee in a statement. “These ladies possess an extraordinary talent and star quality that's rivaled only by their dedication to their craft."
“They harmonize and perform like only sisters can, and we are proud to introduce The BoykinZ as QC’s first country music act,” they added.
The BoykinZ’s new signing is the latest power move for the group. The Atlanta-born quartet, made of sisters Kylan, Anale, Nytere, and Alona, first made waves in 2022. They became known as the “Blackgirls of Country” on Tiktok — amassing over 80 million views on their content and more than half a million followers.
