Nelly will reportedly be performing at one of Donald Trump’s inaugural balls.
CBS News reports that the rapper will take the microphone at the Inaugural Liberty Ball on Monday (Jan 20), which will follow Trump's inauguration and presidential parade, amongst other planned events in his itinerary. Aside from the Liberty Ball, Trump is set to hold the Commander in Chief Ball, and the Starlight Ball.
Nelly performing at the event would be a full-circle moment for him because, on his breakout single 'Country Grammar (Hot Shit)' in 2000, he implored Trump to 'let him in.' Now, it seems like Nelly will finally be "in."
Nelly is reportedly one of a few other artists performing for President-Elect Trump.
Country star Carrie Underwood will sing “America The Beautiful” at the swearing-in ceremony while opera signer Christopher Maccio is set to perform the National Anthem.
The Village People will also reportedly perform at the event. Their popular song “YMCA” is often performed at Trump’s presidential rallies.
Other confirmed performers at Trump's inauguration events are both Kid Rock and Billy Ray Cyrus.
After his inauguration show for Trump, Nelly will be heading out on the Where The Party At Tour with both Ja Rule and Eve in late July.
