Lil Wayne reunited with the Hot Boys on stage at his Lil WeezyAna Fest over the weekend.

Lil Wayne’s festival was packed with major moments, starting with Big Tymers hitting the stage for a brief set that included their hit song “Get Your Roll On.”

Then, Lil Wayne, who’d previously been on stage doing a few songs with guests, brought together Turk, B.G., and Juvenile (who’d already performed short solo sets) for the official Hot Boys stage reunion.

This was the first time the foursome had been onstage together in more than 15 years, so it was only right that they performed some of their biggest songs like “Neighborhood Superstar,” “I Need A Hot Girl,” and “Bling Bling.”

Aside from the reunion, Lil Wayne’s festival had more emotional moments, and one of them came when he addressed the fact that he won’t be performing at the Super Bowl. In a short but riveting speech, Lil Wayne reflected on a year when he was able to get his family a private suite to watch the New Orleans Saints play in the big game.

“That moment I said to myself I want to be onstage for the Super Bowl for my mom,” he said. “And I worked my ass off to get that fucking position and it was ripped away from me, but this motherfucking moment right here, they can’t take that.”

On the flip side of the painful moment, Lil Wayne also received high honors from the City of New Orleans, his home town, during the festival.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell presented Lil Wayne with a key to the city. “We love you," Cantrell said. "This is your city and you matter for generations for what you’ve done, what you’re doing, and what you will do.”

Master P, who is New Orleans’ Entertainment Ambassador, also came on stage to announce that Feb. 6 and 7 will be Lil Wayne days in the city. He added that the "Mr. Carter" rapper is also one of the first honorees for the planned New Orleans’ Walk of Fame.
