Kid Cudi is on Letterboxd, and he’s already letting the world know all about his favorite movies.

"Letterboxd is my new obsession," he tweeted while pointing fans to his page.

The rapper and actor posted his favorite movies on the social media platform for film enthusiasts, and his picks may surprise you. Cudi selected Last Dragon (1985), The Cable Guy (1996), Stand By Me (1986), and Life (1999).

Cudi even wrote why he loved each film, going into specific detail on a couple. “My favorite movie of all time,” wrote Cudi about The Last Dragon. “I watched this as a kid and was obsessed. Its still something I watch here and there. Truly fun ride. The music, THE FASHION, the action, all these elements make it a great film from the 80s. HIGHLY recommend. Like, u have to see this one.”

Cudi revealed that Stand by Me is what made him begin acting. “Saw this movie as a kid and made me want to become an actor,” he wrote. “Truly amazing piece of cinema. One of Stephen Kings finest stories. Tap in if u missed it. Discovered River Phoenix w this one.”

In addition to his favorite films, Cudi reviewed 16 more — including the recent box office hit Sinners. “Incredible. Ryan Coogler is a master. Thats all I can say. If u havent seen it, stop lunchin' and get on that. One of the best original films of the year,” penned Cudi.

After writing a review about Superman (2025) and deleting it because he wasn’t the biggest fan of it, Cudi hopped on X to let people know he’d focus on movies he loves because he doesn’t “want to appear negative.”

“I know how hard is to make a movie so I don’t wanna bash anyone,” he wrote. “Good or bad, people came to work and bust their asses for weeks to bring it to life. I have mad respect for anyone who gets their movie made.” He also reviewed the summer hit Weapons.

Cudi’s new Letterboxd account comes just days after he released his Mr. Miracle short film that co-stars LaKeith Stanfield and also brings his track “Free” to life.

In an interview with Billboard, Cudi revealed the inspiration for the film. “Mr. Miracle is a celebration of life and I felt like I wanted to have a moment of reflection in the beginning,” he said.

“I wanted to do something to celebrate them and what better place to do it than in Cleveland in my hometown at the House of Blues, which I have history in,” he added. “I have performed there a number of times. It made sense to go back and do something for the fans and send them my love through a visual.”
