Justin Bieber’s recent set at Coachella has given birth to a legendary meme.
When the Biebs hit the stage in Indio, California, to give festival goers the show of their lives, he did so in a uniquely lo-fi fashion. He performed a slew of classic hits and cuts off his latest album, SWAG, but he did so without grand arrangements and on-stage dance moves.
It was just JB, a microphone, and a laptop with YouTube open for most of his set — and all around the world, fans are divided on whether they think this was a good decision or bad decision.
On the one hand, JB sang songs like Chris Brown’s “With You” and harmonized with a younger version of himself in a YouTube video. On the other hand, he did pull up memes on YouTube that projected to the audience via a huge screen, robbing the show of its tenderness.
Either way, the set’s projection screen has given rise to a hilarious meme featuring people putting whatever they want on the screen while JB dances to it in the foreground. The results have all been in good fun, and continue to spread across the internet like wildfire as his set continues to be talked about.
