Juelz Santana Says Lil Wayne Gave Him $100,000 While Behind Bars: 'A Lot of People Don’t Know That'

Juelz Santana has revealed that Lil Wayne sent him a whopping $100,000 while the former Diplomats member was incarcerated.

During an episode of The Danza Project podcast (around the five-minute mark of the video below), Santana opened up about his relationship with Wayne while speaking about the possibility of the duo releasing their long-awaited project, I Can’t Feel My Face.

“Wayne sent me $100,000 when I was locked up,” Santana said. “A lot of people don’t know that. I don’t put him out there on blast because he doesn’t like that. He don’t do it for that.”

Santana also spoke about how their relationship comes before making music.

“I just hate talking about [the project] because every time I talk about it, it gets clickbaited,” Santana claimed. “We are brothers, and I’m never going to let anything get in the way of our brotherhood.”

In 2018, Santana fled the Newark Liberty International Airport after TSA agents discovered a loaded handgun and oxycodone pills in his luggage; he turned himself in to the police three days later and was sentenced to 27 months in prison followed by a year of supervised release. He was released from prison after serving 19 months of his sentence.

Meanwhile, fans have been clamoring for I Can’t Feel My Face for over 20 years, after it was first teased in 2005. Santana and Wayne ended up collaborating for the Blow mixtape in 2006, but the long-awaited I Can’t Feel My Face has yet to see the light of day.

Last February, Cam’ron shared why he thinks I Can’t Feel My Face never came out. While discussing the project on Talk With Flee, Cam blamed the project’s issues on Wayne not turning in his fourth solo studio album to Universal Music Group on time.

“Lil Wayne wasn’t the super superstar,” Cam said. “He was a star, but remember, Lil Wayne emerged into a superstar after Tha Carter [albums] and ‘A Milli’ and all that shit.”

Cam also said that if the two were to release I Can’t Feel My Face today, neither Santana nor Wayne would make much money from it.

“So Juelz and Lil Wayne had a project. Def Jam is under Universal, which Lil Wayne was signed to. So when they wanted to put this project out, Universal told Def Jam, ‘Well, Lil Wayne still didn’t give us his album yet, so if y’all wanna put this project out, we’re taking 95% and Def Jam, y’all could take 5%,’” Cam said.

But in 2022, Dipset’s Un Kasa claimed that Santana and Wayne were working on a new version of I Can’t Feel My Face, so perhaps all hope isn’t lost.
