It looks like Ebro Darden’s show Ebro in the Morning has come to an end. Darden posted the news about the show that featured Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez on X, writing, “It’s done. More to come. #EbroInTheMorning.”

Ebro shared more thoughts on the news during an Instagram Live, explaining that "they needed me out of the way."

“Told y'all a couple of weeks ago—when they try to run that Andrew Cuomo play on me. Remember that shit? And then they tried," he said. "You know, when the Trumpster got in office. Listen, man, I don't capitulate well, bro. I've been doing this too long. You look around all the major media outlets, look at all the major media outlets, man. All of them. Look at all of them."

He continued: "They all gotta fold up ’cause they all trying to renew their deals, their licenses. They all—well, in this particular situation, we’ll get into more specifics another time. Bro just got, bro, bro’s a casino owner. You know those 3 licenses they got here in New York City for the casinos? The guy that owns the shit owns one of the casino licenses. He gotta raise $50 million, bro—half a billion dollars, excuse me. They need my shit-talking anti‑Netanyahu, anti‑government, progressive shit out the way, bro. They need me out the way.”

Rosenberg confirmed the news with his own message on X afterwards. “I lived out a childhood dream and it was amazing,” he wrote. “Very excited for what’s next #ebrointhemorning #reallate.”

In a follow-up video, Rosenberg expanded on the news. “I told you guys for a long time, change is afoot,” he said on Instagram. “Change can be beautiful. There are some changes on the horizon. Stay tuned.”

On the Hot 97 website, all references to the show have seemingly been removed.

Syndication distributor Superradio Networks released its own comment about the situation, saying, “While the distribution of Ebro in the Morning in its current form is ending, Superadio remains fully committed to the Ebro brand. We look forward to continuing to bring Ebro’s voice and talent to the masses across new platforms, which we’ll be sharing more about very soon.”

Ebro in the Morning began in 2012 when Darden returned to the morning time slot after previously taking part in the time slot from 2004 to 2007.

Earlier this year, Darden suggested that there would be changes happening to Hot 97 after Funkmaster Flex changed time slots.

“They’re going to start,” said Darden. “This program right here, the amount of money they spend — which ain’t a lot, but it’s more than they spend on the rest of the radio station — when they get to cutting off fingers and toes up here? It’s going to happen bro. Don’t play with these people, man.”

“I’ve been telling y’all for months — years — that the new ownership of the big legend, HOT 97, didn’t give a damn about investing in this damn thing here,” he added. “No new studios. Making cuts, cutting staff, cutting this, cutting that.”

Outside of Hot 97, Darden is the Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B at Apple Music where he hosts The Ebro Show and Rap Life Radio.
