Fat Joe and Jadakiss have different opinions about Offset requesting spousal support from Cardi B.
The two rappers discussed the famous rap couple’s relationship in a recent episode of the Joe and Jada podcast, after Fat Joe brought up the topic to hear Jadakiss’s thoughts. “In hip-hop lately, we’ve been seeing guys asking for spousal support,” said Fat Joe. “You been seeing these guys. I’m talking about one rap star in particular saying he needs the bread because she makes more money.”
Fat Joe asked Jadakiss to chime in, and he seemed to side with Offset in the situation. “To each his own,” began Jadakiss. “I don’t feel no kind of way. It’s never a problem when it happens the other way, so shit let’s get a win for the other guy one time.”
Fat Joe responded to Jadakiss’ thought with a shoutout to Cardi. “You can’t be a rap star asking for somebody to pay your bills,” he retorted. “I love my sister Cardi B. I know how hard it is for her to come from where we came from and make a couple of dollars and be successful.”
The two also discussed Cardi and Offset’s son, Wave, getting matching braids with Cardi’s new boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, with Jadakiss referring to it as a “low blow." He also explained that we don’t really know what’s going on behind the scenes.
In late May, Offset amended his divorce petition to request spousal support from Cardi. Offset didn’t put an exact figure on what he’s seeking, but he’s requesting a court-ordered payment from the rapper in addition to joint custody of their three kids, Kulture, Wave, and their infant daughter.
Cardi doesn’t seem fazed by the request. She’s pushing on with Diggs — as evident in a recent post celebrating their six-month relationship.
