DJ Vlad has shared a few choice words with Kid Cudi after the rapper called him a "bum" for comments relating to the success of his breakout hit, "Day N Nite."
On Saturday morning (January 24), Vlad took to X to call out Cudi. "Cokehead Cudi talking shit about me?" he wrote, referencing the rapper's admitted past cocaine usage.
Someone in the comments then brought up Diddy's alleged involvement in Cudi's car being blown up, writing: "He ain't talk tough like that when Diddy flamed his shit."
Vlad replied by claiming Cudi "snitched" on Diddy when he testified in the disgraced Bad Boy mogul's recent sex trafficking trial.
The online spat between the two stems from Jim Jones taking credit for making Kid Cudi’s "Day n Nite" popular.
"That's how y'all know Kid Cudi," Jones said during his appearance on the No Rap Cap podcast, referencing his own remix of the song that he released soon after he heard Cudi’s version. "You wouldn't have never known Kid Cudi if I didn't remix the record in New York City. Nobody knew [who] Kid Cudi was."
Soon after catching wind of his comments, Cudi posted a response on Instagram denying that Jones was responsible for the song’s success.
"I see something online that I have to address," he said. "Jim Jones… First of all, we love Jim Jones. I grew up on Jimmy, he's the homie, I met him when I was coming up, he was cool, right? Jimmy, I’m going to address you directly, my n***a. You talking about how you were responsible for my success, is a lie. You need to stop lying to people."
"You get on your little podcast, and you start gossiping and talking shit, and everybody on your podcast don’t know the truth, so they are agreeing with you," Cudi continued. "But if you look under the comments under that post, you’ll see people are letting you know what time it is."
Vlad later hopped into the conversation and agreed with what Jones was saying.
"People are roasting Jim Jones for saying he’s the reason Kid Cudi blew up, but he’s absolutely right," Vlad wrote in a post on X. "Nobody knew who Cudi was until Jim Jones did the Day & Night remix. Keep in mind, this was coming off the heels of Ballin — his biggest song ever."
When a fan shared Vlad’s comments to Cudi, Cudi laughed it off, writing, "Hahaha ain’t nobody tryna hear what this bum has to say."
