Sean “Diddy” Combs has denied TMZ's report that he was caught drinking alcohol at Fort Dix.
The music mogul’s X account was updated with a statement saying that the allegation was bogus.
“The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false,” reads the statement. “His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
TMZ reported on Nov. 7 that Diddy was caught with homemade alcohol made out of Fanta, sugar, and apples. After the music mogul was caught by officials, there were allegedly plans to move him into a new unit, but this decision was later reversed.
After their story came out, Diddy’s family spokesperson Juda Engelmayer responded to TMZ with a statement.
"Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day,” said Engelmayer. “As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue. We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose."
The allegation of Diddy drinking alcohol come after he told a judge during his sentencing that he was sober for the first time in 25 years. In fact, Diddy’s attorneys even requested that Combs serve his time at Fort Dix "in order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts."
Complex has reached out to Diddy’s team for comment.
