“530,” a track off Ye and Ty Dolla Sign’s second Vultures album, now has a video.
Late Wednesday night, the artist formerly known as Kanye West ensured a specific kind of nightmare for some of his fans with the video’s release, which was immediately met with speculation that it employed the use of generative A.I.
This, however, hasn’t been directly confirmed as of this writing.
Still, it’s hard to deny that aspects of the video certainly look like A.I. Parts of the song itself, meanwhile, have also been the subject of similar speculation. The disfigured faces and unsettling puppets at the core of the new “530” video bring to mind the work of Paul McCarthy, whom Ye previously referenced on Instagram when sharing the artist’s mid-'90s piece “Painter” last September.
That same month, Ye announced a new solo album, Bully, which will mark his first since 2021’s Donda. While his and Ty's Vultures franchise was originally announced as a trilogy, it's not currently clear whether a third entry will see the light of day.
In February, “Carnival,” a song off Vultures 1, will compete in the Best Rap Song category at the 2025 Grammys.
Other Vultures era tracks to have gotten the official video treatment include “Bomb,” “Slide,” “Fried,” and “Talking.” Along the way, Bully has been sporadically teased, including in a recent clip featuring a potential track built around a Pomme sample.
Pomme herself, however, later clarified that she had “never given my consent for the use of this sample for reasons that seem obvious to me.”
