Watch Earl Sweatshirt's ‘Tonight Show’ Performance of "2010"

The first month of the new year has been a prolific one for Earl, who recently dropped his new 10-track album 'Sick!' and is soon launching a tour.

Fresh off the release of the expectedly excellent Sick!, an album that saw Earl Sweatshirt leaning into the current “chaos” of modern life, fans have been given a Tonight Show performance of “2010.”

Notably, Monday night’s performance marked Earl’s inaugural appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. Back in 2013, however, Earl appeared as the musical guest on an episode of Fallon’s Late Night.

The aforementioned Sick! saw Earl linking with a range of producers including the Alchemist, Black Noise, Samiyam, and more. In a statement shared alongside the album, which marks Earl’s fourth studio release, the I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside artist revealed that his latest catalog entry marked a “humble offering” that was recorded following the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Originally, Earl had been working on a completely different album that would have carried the book-inspired title of The People Could Fly. The pandemic, however, inspired Earl to alter those plans.

“A wise man said art imitates life,” Earl said at the time. “People were sick. The People were angry and isolated and restless. I leaned into the chaos cause it was apparent that it wasn’t going anywhere. these songs are what happened when I would come up for air.”

“2010,” meanwhile, was unveiled to the world back in November alongside an official video directed and edited by Ryosuke Tanzawa. Revisit that below. Later this month, Earl is linking up with Action Bronson (and more) for the NBA Leather Tour.
