Taylor Swift Shouts Out SZA’s ‘SOS’ as “Anti-Hero” Remains Atop Billboard Hot 100

Taylor Swift's SZA praise follows similarly positive comments from SZA herself, who said earlier this month that she "genuinely loved" the 'Midnights' album.

Taylor Swift is shouting out SZA’s recently released SOS album amid the continued success of her Midnights single “Anti-Hero.”

“What on Earth I love you guys,” Swift wrote in an Instagram Stories update, as seen below. “PS – Been listening to [SZA’s] album nonstop. Absolutely adore her music. So much love and respect for her!!”

The update from Swift was in response to a report from Billboardrevealing that “Anti-Hero” had become her longest-leading No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart after spending eight weeks in the top spot.

Meanwhile, SZA’s SOS remains the No. 1 entry on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with the current iteration of the chart showing that Swift’s Midnights was in the No. 2 spot. The current chart (i.e. the one for the week of Jan. 14) sees SZA’s long-awaited sophomore retaining the top spot after four weeks on the chart, while Swift’s Midnights has been on the chart for 11 weeks.

For reasons not worth exploring, some have continued to posit the two albums against each other, despite the reality that it’s very (very!) easy to simply enjoy multiple albums from multiple artists at once without making it a competition. Such forced competitiveness, notably, is decidedly against the very idea of art in its purest sense, not to mention decidedly lame from every possible angle.

As previously reported, SZA stepped into all of this earlier this month, saying in a social media update that she “genuinely loved” Swift’s album.
