Steve Lacy has a question.

Indeed, over on his Instagram, the Gemini Rights Grammy winner was quick to respond to Drake’s recent mention of him during a stream with xQc. As this very publication has already informed you, Drake referred to Lacy as “a fragile opp.” At the time, Lacy’s universally acclaimed 2022 single “Bad Habit” was playing on xQc’s stream, spurring the 6 God to admit to the song's strength.

“This guy’s like a fragile opp, but it’s a good song,” Drake said. Asked to clarify what he meant by “fragile opp,” Drake declined to explain in detail.

“Chat knows what I’m talking about. Fragility,” he added.

Naturally, Lacy had some fun with this seemingly out-of-nowhere moment by posing an inquiry to the world at large.

“Who tryna be my…fragile opp?” he asked in a grid update. In another, he questioned the mention with a quick “what in the?” He also took to his IG Stories to share a Complex post about Drake’s remark, this time tucking in a pair of crying emoji alongside an extended “yooooooooo.”

Though Drake didn’t specify what made him label Lacy a “fragile opp,” it’s worth pointing out that he was among those who showed up for Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out event over the summer. Lacy is also seen in the video for Kendrick’s chart-topping Drake diss “Not Like Us,” which is up for Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the 2025 Grammys.

The xQc stream’s music selections also inspired Drake to call to skipfThe Weeknd’s “Starboy.” When the host obliged, blink-182’s “Dammit” started playing, generating a much different reaction.

“Exactly. Play some blink-182,” Drake said of the 1997 hit. “I wanna hear that real shit.”
