Soulja Boy has been found liable for millions in damages in a civil trial in which he was accused of assaulting a woman and holding her against her will.

The accuser in the case, as previously reported, had asked the jury to award her over $73 million. Per real-time court updates from independent legal journalist Meghann Cuniff and Rolling Stone's Nancy Dillon, Soulja was ultimately determined by the jury to be liable for assault, sexual battery, and infliction of emotional distress, with total damages coming in at more than $4 million.

During the trial, Soulja denied the allegations against him, saying that any sexual encounters between himself and the accuser were consensual. The allegations, he said while on the stand earlier this month, were “disgusting” and “crazy.” As previously reported, the “Crank That” artist and Atlanta guest star had been accused of assault and other claims by a woman said to have previously worked for him, though the exact nature of that employment was a source of debate amid the legal proceedings.

While the accuser has been repeatedly referred to as an “assistant,” Soulja has argued that she was instead tasked with “rolling weed” for him, though he previously conceded to having referred to her as an assistant “in a public setting” because he felt that was “more appropriate,” per Rolling Stone.

During the trial, texts said to have been sent from the accusers o Soulja Boy’s manager were also given extensive time in court. Notably, as recently pointed out by Cuniff, this may not be the end of Soulja’s present legal issues.
