Solange Asked for a Kanye West x ‘The Wiz’ Mashup, and Her Fans Came Through

Solange asked for someone to put together a "video collage" of Kanye's "Bad News" and 'The Wiz,' and fans got right to it.

Fans wasted no time answering Solange's request for an 808s & Heartbreak and The Wiz mashup. On Wednesday, Solange asked her 2.98 million Twitter followers to make a "video collage" of the "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News" Wiz scene set to Kanye West's 808s track "Bad News."

The first response to Solange's video request, perFader, came from @xmariahnicole:

The original sequence from Sidney Lumet's The Wiz (1978) features Mabel King (as Evillene) singing "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News" with some help from the Winkies. In NBC's 2015 adaptation The Wiz Live!, Evillene—a.k.a. the Wicked Witch of the West—was played by Mary J. Blige.

Though West's "Bad News" was never an official single from 808s & Heartbreak, he did perform the track during his special 808s shows at the Hollywood Bowl in 2015:
