Selena Gomez Rocks a Thong on Instagram as Rumors Swirl of Fake Relationship With The Weeknd

2017, the year of the fake relationship? That's the declaration many have been tweeting after ingeniously timed photos of The Weeknd and (allegedly) Selena Gomez popped up via the usual suspects earlier this week. In the photos, the two appeared to be placing their mouths on each other. This is commonly called "kissing," and is a thing that people occasionally do when in a "relationship."

Apparently not content with letting these kiss pics handle the bulk of the rumor workload alone, photographer Mert Alas shared an Instagram-shattering photo of Gomez in a thong Thursday and then apparently TAGGED THE WEEKND in the comments. According toE! News, the comment featured a simple heart emoji and has yet to receive any response from The Weeknd. Bella Hadid, The Weeknd's ex, has also unfollowed Gomez on the 'gram.

In a previous report, E! Newssaid they had "exclusively" learned that Gomez and The Weeknd were partaking in romantic activities but taking it slow. "Selena was focusing on getting herself back together and Abel was just getting out of a relationship, plus putting out his new album," one source claimed. "Abel and Bella also were on and off towards the end of their relationship, so getting into something brand new was not what Abel was looking for." The Weeknd, another source added, has "always had a thing" for Gomez.
