Blank Face LP, Schoolboy Q's excellent summer 2016 album, will mercifully be getting its follow-up this year with CrasH TalkIn a new interview conducted on the golf course at Calabasas Country Club, Q has credited both the calming game and his Top Dawg family with helping him push through creative difficulties to present fans with his 14-track latest.

"Golf taught me patience, and you need that in the music industry, because this shit is evil," Q, noting circumstances in his life that resulted in a lot of at-home time, said in a new GQchat with Jeff Weiss featuring photos from Danielle Levitt. Q's love of golf kicked into full-blown mode just over a year ago, with the Grammy nominee now hitting the course daily for the benefits.

Later, Q gave fans some insight on where his head was at following the Blank Face LP cycle, a whirlwind period of productivity Q first attempted to follow by immediately jumping back in the studio.

Q ultimately cut and tossed out two entire albums because "they were trash." A third was also completed during this period, followed by a brief moment in which Q was convinced it was the one. Some insight from fellow TDE members Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock, however, inspired him to go back to the drawing board. This period, Q reflected, is now considered by him to be a "toxic" time in his life for both him and his family.

"I'd be in the house smoking weed, just waiting to go to the studio every day," Q said. "That's not a good life. That brings on depression." See the full feature here.

CrasH Talk, featuring collabs with Kid Cudi and Travis Scott, is out Friday. Revisit the recently unveiled tracklist below.
