Rod Wave’s Beautiful Mind, which the artist previously told fans would be his “last sad ass album,” was released on Friday.

Featuring appearances by Jack Harlow and December Joy, the 24-track album follows last year’s chart-topping SoulFly. Stream it below via Spotify and/or grab it here via your preferred streaming provider.

Ahead of the album’s rollout, Rod and Drake shared a friendly public exchange spurred by the former’s reflection on having ultimately elected to turn down a collaboration. As Rod revealed during an appearance on Complex’s 360 With Speedy Morman show this week, he wasn’t pleased with what he came up with for the would-be Scary Hours 2 collab.

“I wanted that shit to be perfect, because it was Drake, you know what I’m saying?” Rod explained, later spurring a response from Drake himself in the comments of an IG post from the official Complex account. As Drake pointed out, this decision by Rod shows “real artistry” in action.”

“This is an act of true respect I could never be upset,” he said, adding in a “much love” wish at the end of the comment. Rod later responded to Drake’s show of support with some words of appreciation of his own.

As for that “last sad ass album” comment, Rod made the declaration in a tweet shared back in June, saying the days ahead are about his desire to “live happy” while traveling and making a living.

Earlier this week, Rod gave fans the official video for Beautiful Mind opener “Alone,” directed by Rod and Yawn Rico. Revisit that below.
