Rick Ross is trying out a new title, telling fans he’s “the BOAT” in a recent video shared to social media.
In the clip in question, originally posted to Rozay’s Instagram Stories on Tuesday (June 2), the recent VERZUZ co-headliner was seen taking a pool break amid ongoing promotion for the upcoming fifth edition of his car and bike show in Georgia.
“I’m the BOAT,” he said while mid-swim. “Biggest of all time, baby. The BOAT.”
It’s unclear whether the GOAT-adjacent distinction will ultimately stick, though it would appear that Ross is adamant on it being more widely adopted, as he later reshared the same clip, again on IG.
In May, Rozay and French Montana took the stage for the latest edition of VERZUZ, which streamed live on Complex’s YouTube and in HD on Apple Music. For his set, Ross, who linked with French and Max B for “Minks in Miami” earlier this year, gave fans “Hustlin,’” Ye’s “Devil in a New Dress,” Jay-Z’s “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt,” and more.
More recently, Ross found himself among those who had some bars pointed in their direction on Drake’s Iceman album.
“Dawg, I was aidin' Ross with streams before Adin Ross had ever streamed,” the 6 god raps in “Make Them Pay,” which also features a very direct DJ Khaled diss.
Later, Rozay gave an off-the-cuff assessment of all three of Drake’s new albums, arguing that the blockbuster triad—comprised of Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti—was “mid.”
