Rae Sremmurd Tease 'SremmLife 3' With New Song

Rae Sremmurd announces 'SremmLife 3' and teases a new track.

SremmLife 3 is coming. After seemingly announcing the new album (on April Fools' Day!?!?) on Twitter, Rae Sremmurd teased a new track at an Ohio State University show over the weekend. According to Vibe's sources, the third entry in the SremmLife series is "already near completion."

SremmLife and SremmLife 2 were released consecutively in 2015 and 2016, the latter featuring the duo's biggest hit to date, the Gucci Mane-featuring "Black Beatles." Though SremmLife 2debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 7 in August, the blockbuster success of "Black Beatles" helped the album reenter the charts just months later. At one point, the "Black Beatles" wave had SremmLife 2 in the top 5.

Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi last popped up on EarDrummers Entertainment boss Mike WiLL Made-It's Ransom 2, the star-stacked sequel to his 2014 mixtape Ransom. Swae Lee is featured solo on "Bars of Soap," while Rae Sremmurd appears on "Come Down" with Chief Keef and "Perfect Pint" with Kendrick Lamar and Gucci Mane.

In an interview with Complex surrounding SremmLife 2's release last year, the duo spoke about the freedom of their creative process. "We might fuck around and write sometimes, then sometimes we might just freestyle four bars and make a smash," Swae Lee told Complex.

If the annual release pattern of SremmLife 1 and 2 holds, then Vibe is right: We can probably expect SremmLife 3 at some point this year.
