A Playboi Carti fan’s brief moment of emotional transcendence has made it to the Opium airwaves.
A short clip shared to Carti’s Opium Finsta shows the fan, who like others in the crowd at a recent show is taking it all in sans shirt, visibly moved to tears in the mosh pit.
In the background, you can hear a portion of a key unreleased Carti track often referred to as either “24 Songs,” or perhaps more accurately, “Made It This Far.” Despite having never been given an official release, the Vory-featuring track has circulated widely among Carti heads and now stands as a fan-favorite.
Of course, there’s also the off chance the fan in question was moved to tears by the then-imminent launch of Carti’s Mitchell & Ness NBA League Collection. The limited-edition collection, unveiled on Monday, features Opium-minded takes on jersey designs from the Atlanta Hawks, and more. Get a closer look here.
Carti and company will continue the Antagonist 2.0 tour this week with additional planned stops in Boston, Brooklyn, and Newark. Just under a month from now, the proceedings will formally come to a close with a Carti hometown show at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
During a recent sold-out stop in Los Angeles, Carti surprised fans by bringing out Kendrick Lamar for a performance of “GOOD CREDIT,” one of several Kendrick-featuring tracks on his Whole Lotta Red follow-up MUSIC. The album, released in March, has already been named by Complex as the best of the year (so far) and is sure to fare similarly when 2025-closing rankings start rolling in.
