OG Maco’s family has issued a statement confirming that he is “currently in critical but stable condition.”

As pointed out in the statement, “all official updates” on Maco’s health will be shared through his official accounts only, not elsewhere. The statement comes after TMZ reported that Maco had been hospitalized following what the publication called “an apparent suicide attempt” in the Los Angeles area.

“We want to inform OG Maco's fans, friends, and supporters that he is currently in critical but stable condition,” Maco’s family said on Sunday. “He is receiving the best possible care, and we are staying hopeful as he continues to fight. At this time, we kindly ask that you respect our privacy, but if you would like to send any messages or have anything you wish to get to the family, please reach out via DM.”

The family continued, “Please note, all official updates regarding OG Maco's health will come directly from his official social media accounts. This will be the only source for valid information. We thank you for your understanding, support, and continued prayers during this difficult time.”

Poppa Percccc, who is Maco's manager, spoke to TMZ earlier this month and called on fans and friends of the artist to send their prayers.

In 2019, Maco took to social media to reveal that he was "improperly treated for a minor rash and ended up with a skin eating disease."

“So much healing has occurred thanks to God and my doctors that I’m willing to show all a fraction of what I’ve been going through,” Maco wrote at the time. "I was improperly treated for a minor rash and ended up with a skin eating disease for the last few months.”

“Shawty,” Maco’s most recent release, saw him linking up with FNX’.
