Days after Nicki Minaj confirmed she was no longer doing the couple thing with Meek Mill, the details surrounding their split are starting to come together. The breakup was the result of a "nuclear fight" between the two during Nicki's birthday weekend festivities, TMZreported Monday.
Nicki and Meek were reportedly not getting along during their trip to Turks and Caicos last month. Meek, according toTMZ's sources, spent the trip hanging with his friends instead of "paying attention" to Nicki. This prompted a fight, ultimately inspiring Meek to leave the island alone. Shortly after Meek's exit, Nicki ended the relationship.
The breakup is said to be mostly due to this and other "small stuff," i.e. not rumors of cheating involving Sonye Rasool. According toTMZ, Rasool says she hooked up with Meek years before his relationship with Nicki. Rasool is reportedly prepping multiple defamation suits related to cheating accusations.
After previously suggesting the split via cryptic Instagram posts and separate New Year's Eve plans, Nicki made the breakup official with a simple tweet last week. "To confirm, yes I am single," Nicki said. "Focusing on my work [and] looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon."
