The song, released Friday, was previously teased by Minaj on social media. Multiple versions, including an official instrumental and an extended edit, were shared to streamers. Papi Yerr, Szamz, and Swizzy are credited on production.

When sharing news of the track’s release on Twitter, Minaj wished fans a happy Pink Friday.

The Fivio collab follows this month’s “Blick Blick” with Coi Leray and February’s “Bussin” with Lil Baby. Minaj and Baby, of course, were then fresh off the release of their prior “Do We Have a Problem?” pairing.

Queen, released in 2018, is Minaj’s most recent full-length studio album. Met with generally favorable reviews, the album (Minaj’s fourth) featured the era-launching single “Chun-Li.” During a 105-minute interview with Joe Budden this month, Minaj reflected on that period in her life, saying she now thinks the release wasn’t “presented correctly.” Minaj also said that she’s since come to think that she wasn’t in the “right place” to release an album at that time.

When teasing “We Go Up” in a TikTok post this month, Minaj said she had “scrapped this song” from her new album, prompting a flood of drop requests from fans. At one point, per Minaj, discussions were had about the possibility of Drake serving as the new album’s executive producer. Such talks took place prior to the release of “Seeing Green,” a Beam Me Up Scotty re-release addition featuring the two alongside Lil Wayne.
