Mercifully, Megan Thee Pumpkin has returned.
By now, fans have come to expect a pumpkinhead-donning update from Megan at the top of each and every October. It’s a tradition at this point. A rite of passage, even. While the Halloween season begins preferably as soon as possible, some time around Labor Day in this writer’s opinion, Megan’s annual pumpkin update serves as the final alarm, a reminder to put up the rest of those decorations and/or get started in earnest on your October viewing plans.
In that spirit, let Megan again help usher you into the only season that really matters below. Soundtracking this ear’s post, fittingly, is Megan and Rico Nasty’s 2022 collab “Scary” off Megan’s Traumazine album.

Megan is currently fresh off hosting the 2024 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards, which saw Taylor Swift and Post Malone taking home Video of the Year for their Ethan Hawke-starring “Fortnight.” During the ceremony, Megan also performed, bringing her Yuki Chiba-featuring “Mamushi” track to the UBS Arena stage as part of a medley also featuring “Boa” and “Hiss.”
In September, Megan landed at No. 4 on Complex’s ranking of the 20 best rappers in their 20s right now. Lil Uzi Vert, Sexyy Red, and Doja Cat were among those who also made the cut. See the full list here.
